Great Soap

For me, traditional tallow based soaps always seem to work better for me and this artisan soap is one of the best I’ve tried. If you’re a fan of Dior’s Sauvage, then this soap will be totally up your street as the scent is very close. I was previously using Proraso soaps (both tubs and cream) and found that this soap produces significantly more lather per gram, meaning that I need to load less on my brush. It also requires more water compared to Poraso soap, so creating a slick lather took some adjustment. However the pre and post shaving feel is excellent, probably helped by the lanolin. Unlike other tallow based soaps such as Arko, I find that Sterling doesn’t remove as much of my skin of oils, meaning that I use less moisturiser too. Due to the cost, Poraso still remains as my mid-week soap, however this feels like a treat to use for my Sunday morning shave.
