A classic recreation
RazoRock claim their American Barber aftershave splash was inspired by YSLs' Rive Gauche Pour Homme, which many people consider tp be the greatest barbershop fragrance of all time. So what better way to judge American Barber than to spray it on one hand and compare it with vintage YSL RGPH sprayed on the other. First impressions then, not to put too fine a point on it, is, "Well, I''ll be!" There it is: that same familiar rosemary, ansicic and bergamot opening blast, on a coumarin and lavender base; the same, or very similar, classic barbershop accord. Naturally, RG is deeper and longer lasting (I notice by the way YSL have now re-released it) but I'd go so far as to say that if YSL still produced an aftershave version of it, then RazoRock American Barber is what it would turn out to be. God bless you RazoRock for recreating a classic, I'm sold.
