Phoenix and Beau
Excellent shaving soaps. Also love their after shave lotions, soothing but not greasy, have tried Achilles Last Stand and Star Noir, both have a great fragrance but not overpowering.

This was my first "artisan" shave soap (bought alongside another from a different producer) and as noted in a previous review, the scent is subtle on first opening the pot. But my word does it build as you lather, and then lingers on the puck pretty much persistently after that. I love this smell, slightly woody, slightly floral, quite sweet, some musk to it. I leave the lid off in the bathroom after using it. I tell my wife this is to dry out the soap before putting the lid back on, when in reality I just love smelling the fragrance when I go back in there. It takes me somewhere I can't identify, but don't want to leave. The quality of the lather is also really good, and so far it's lasted me about five months of 2-3 shaves a week, and there's still a good amount left, although I have now hit the bottom of the pot in the middle of the puck. The shaves have been pretty darn good so far. Still honing my technique, but the slickness and cushion is quite forgiving. Sometimes I make extra lather just to smell it while I'm shaving. Seriously, delicious scent.
