Merkur 700 Futur Adjustable Safety Razor - Satin
I've been using double blade razors for a few years now, my last razor a Shelby gave an excellent shave for a few years but seemed to lose it after a couple of years,, I've tried a few others but none of them quite hit the mark for smoothness. I came across the Merkur 700 Futur and thought I'd take the plunge as its not exactly cheap. Was it worth the gamble paying the extra, well the build is quality, the metal is well worked and provides perfect grip, I have the brushed chrome version and tend to shave while I'm in the shower, not once have I dropped the razor or had it slip/turn in my grip, also most importantly, I haven't had any nicks. The corners of the nose are not a problem, as with all the razors I've had, it's technique, I hold the blade about 45-50° angle to the skin and use the left or right half of the blade to trim the hairs in the corner, I've never cut myself this way, even when I first tried it. The Futur is the best razor I've used, it provides the smoothest shave I've ever had and is made of quality materials which I believe could last a lifetime. I've had about 10 shaves with the razor so far with the same blade that came with it, the result is still super smooth. Impressive.
