A Shaving Bowl Mission

A shaving bowl is created. Deep in the heart of Wales, where rolling hills meet the whisper of the sea, an artist’s hands shape more than just clay—she crafts an experience. Stacey Halabuda isn’t just a ceramicist; she’s a master of her medium, fusing artistry with function to create stunning handmade shaving bowls that transform the daily ritual of wet shaving into something extraordinary.

At her studio, every shaving bowl is, carefully thrown, sculpted, and glazed by hand, ensuring no two pieces are ever the same. The result? Beautifully unique shaving bowls that will change up your lathering game but also bring a touch of artisanal craftsmanship to your wet shaving routine. Whether you seek the perfect lather or a statement piece for your shave den, Stacey’s creations embody both form and function in a way only true artistry can achieve.

Join us as we go undercover to explore the inspiration, passion, and skill behind Stacey Haladuba’s handmade shaving bowls—crafted in Wales, made for the discerning wet shaver.

Who is Stacey Halabuda?

My name is Stacey. I live in the South Wales valley with my husband and almost teenage son. I love metal music, books, tattoos and pottery. You’ll often find me dancing around my studio to music that’s too loud in clay covered Care Bear leggings.

My favourite breakfast is any breakfast that I can eat out with my family but day to day it’s boring and I eat porridge with chocolate and blueberries, maybe raspberries if I’m feeling fancy!

I started working with polymer clay about 14 years ago and I’ve more recently turned to ceramic clay. I’ve been working with ceramic clay for just over two years so not long.

My favourite thing to make is mugs. The thought of potentially making someone’s favourite mug makes me happy. Having my morning coffee from a mug I’ve created is such a good feeling.

I had never considered making shaving bowls until a friend asked me if I could make them. It was fun to try something new and now I’m thinking of ways to make them different, what other features I could include and what other glaze combos would look good. It’s really opened a new avenue of creativity for me.

My next clay challenge is a set of plates. I get asked a lot for plates but I’ve never made them. I don’t know how they’ll turn out but I know that I’ll be replicating the copper and white shaving bowls glaze combination. It’s my absolute favourite and I think it would make stunning dinner plates.

Thanks Stacey for taking the time out to chat with us - we love your shaving bowls and cannot wait to see what our wet shaving community thinks!
